This is an acronym for Electronic Bills Payment which is a collection platform managed and operated by the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System Plc. (NIBSS) that accepts payments from customers via Internet Banking, Bank Branch, and USSD channels.
E-BillsPay is used to facilitate the payment of different Bills, Fees, Levies, Premiums, Airtime, and Subscriptions, etc. by the banking public through electronic payment channels provided and managed by Banks.

e-BillsPay connects to the billers to validate data and notification of successful payments, and connects to the Bank for customers to view a list of billers and payment receipt after a successful transaction.
This is an Internet Payment Gateway developed to facilitate payments on the Internet using both cards (all card types) and accounts. CentralPay plugs into new and existing merchant websites and acts as a bridge between the merchant’s website and the financial institutions (banks) to process payment transactions.Features & Benefits.

mCASH is an innovative payment solution designed to facilitate retail payments to Merchants. It is accessible to payers via mobile USSD technology which in recent times has become the most accessible channel (even without internet) for financial and non-financial transactions. mCASH leverages on the NIBSS Instant Payments (NIP) infrastructure for immediate fund delivery to Merchants’ accounts. I’m Alive is a service designed to facilitate the seamless verification of the Aliveness and Presence of individuals. The service employs biometric matching of an individual’s fingerprints to existing BVN records in order to confirm that the individual is alive and present at the location where the verification was conducted.
NIBSS has partnered with Banks and licensed stakeholders to conduct “I’m Alive” verification at designated geospatial locations nationwide
BVN is a unique identification number that can be verified across all financial institutions in Nigeria. A customer’s BVN is mapped to the individual’s biological traits namely: * Finger Print * Signature * Facial photograph captured at the point of enrollment. BVN offers the verification and validation of the customers’ identity seamlessly across multiple and interoperable electronic platforms.
The BVN database is searched to display relevant information about an individual, this is called the bio-data (it includes names, phone numbers, addresses, dates of birth). The BVN database is the most reliable and comprehensive data source in the Nigeria Financial Industry warehousing over 38 million unique BVNs, which are intrinsic to each and every individual whose profile has been captured.
Name Enquiry service allows a payer to confirm the accuracy of the Bank customer’s account details on a payment or non-payment platform before conducting a financial or non-financial transaction. Name Enquiry ensures the sender verifies the designated account names before initiating a credit and this guarantees that funds are received by the intended beneficiaries.
There are three types of Name Enquiry services:
Name Enquiry Vanilla – This service is for single validations but can validate up to 10 accounts at a time.
Name Enquiry with Picture – This service provides the picture in addition to the name attached to the inputted account number. This is strictly for individual accounts that are active.
Bulk Name Enquiry – This service takes up to 500,000 records or a file size up to 10mb and returns the First Middle and Last name of the valid account number(s) to the user.
NIBSS PAYplus is a service that processes bulk payments for remittances, salaries and other multi-beneficiary payment purposes. The basic architecture of the product is ‘debiting one account to credit one or multiple accounts’. The account to be debited is referred to as the ‘Funding Account’ which is profiled on the NAPS platform by the Customer’s Bank; alternatively, the NEFT & NIP platform can also be used to process bulk payments.
